div style="text-align: justify;"In preparation for putting your Christmas decorations up over the next couple of weeks, I thought I would share with younbsp;a DIY christmas tree I made using post-itnbsp;notesnbsp;a couple of years ago whennbsp;I wasnbsp;living in London. This is a really good project if you spend very little time at home or don't want to buy a real tree. I made this makeshift tree when we were heading straight to the sky slopes on boxing day. I didn't want to have a tree slowing dying in the house while we were away so thought this was a fun alternative./divbr /div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-p9PChCJsgBY/TtT8jlr-_vI/AAAAAAAAFxo/K92h0WI9Nys/s1600/apairasparepostitchristmastree1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-p9PChCJsgBY/TtT8jlr-_vI/AAAAAAAAFxo/K92h0WI9Nys/s1600/apairasparepostitchristmastree1.jpg" //a/divdiv class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-KB7SCWQd0N4/TtT8fc9w7PI/AAAAAAAAFxg/VQazoht6q6o/s1600/apairasparepostitchristmastrees1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"img border="0" height="416px" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-KB7SCWQd0N4/TtT8fc9w7PI/AAAAAAAAFxg/VQazoht6q6o/s640/apairasparepostitchristmastrees1.jpg" width="640px" //a/divdiv class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"/divdiv class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"/divdiv class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"/divdiv class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;"strong/strong/divdiv class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;"br //divdiv class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;"strongYou need:/strong/divdiv class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;"-nbsp;A few stacks of different coloured post-it notes. I went for yellow, light green and darker green to create the feel of the leaves on a christmas tree./divdiv class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;"- Flat ornaments. I used somenbsp;glittery bauble style christmas cards found in a dollar store./divdiv class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;"-nbsp;A star./divdiv class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;"- Double sided tape./divdiv class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;"br //divdiv class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;"strongHow to:/strong/divdiv class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;"1. Starting at the bottom, stick the post-it notes to the wall in a rownbsp;to make the base of the tree. The first row will be the longestnbsp;so use this to determine the height and width of your tree. Feel free to chalk to sketch out the shape of the tree (I didn't bother)./divdiv class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;"2. Making sure to overlap the post-it notes and properly mix the colours, start on the second row, making it two post-it notes shorter in lengthnbsp;than the base row./divdiv class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;"3. Continue in this way up the tree - making sure to create a softly sloping triangle for the shape of the tree by doing shorter and shorter rows of post-it notes./divdiv class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;"4. Keep going until you get to the top of the tree with a single post-it note./divdiv class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;"5. Using double sided tape, stick the flat ornaments directly onto the 'leaves' on the edges of the tree./divdiv class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;"6. Finish off the tree with the star using doubled sided tape (or blue tack)./divdiv class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;"br //divdiv class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;"And there you have it, a quick, cheap and fun alternative to the standard christmas tree. Stay tuned for my Christmas DIY Gift Guide./divdiv class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;"br //divdiv class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-jZ5HObUV96c/TtTbHVi-jXI/AAAAAAAAFwA/SCGIA_Cqyig/s1600/christmastree.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"img border="0" dda="true" height="480px" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-jZ5HObUV96c/TtTbHVi-jXI/AAAAAAAAFwA/SCGIA_Cqyig/s640/christmastree.jpg" width="640px" //a/divdiv class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-cfDC-0fmmTU/TtTvirglgVI/AAAAAAAAFwI/DlQMNR-1Hck/s1600/apairasparepostitchristmastrees39.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"img border="0" dda="true" height="440px" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-cfDC-0fmmTU/TtTvirglgVI/AAAAAAAAFwI/DlQMNR-1Hck/s640/apairasparepostitchristmastrees39.png" width="640px" //a/divbr /div style="text-align: justify;"I couldn't help but sharenbsp;one of five amazing courses my bf whipped up on the day - bresola with seared peaches, goats cheese and rocket.
