div style="text-align: justify;"I recently made this tribal print collar by removing it from a dress that was undergoing major surgery (more on that soon!). In the past I've usually made detachable collars by cutting them off a shirt and keeping the top button to secure them at the neck./divdiv style="text-align: justify;"br //divdiv style="text-align: justify;"However, I recently found that by actually replacing the top button and button hole with a hook and eye, you're able to get a much neater collar that sits infinitely better. I think because of the way that collars are secured onto shirts and dresses, they can sit a bit funny and too upright when worn as a detachable around the neck. To combat this I simply removed the pieces of fabric on which the top button and button hole sit, and sewed a hook and eye in their place. This is so simple and makes a huge difference to the overall look.nbsp; /divbr /a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/66755335@N05/6498926717/" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;" title="apairandasparecollar1 by apairandaspare, on Flickr"img alt="apairandasparecollar1" height="438" src="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7019/6498926717_e926471ae9_b.jpg" width="640" //a br /div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/66755335@N05/6498938023/" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;" title="apairandasparecollar4 by apairandaspare, on Flickr"img alt="apairandasparecollar4" height="428" src="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7007/6498938023_2737693ec2_b.jpg" width="640" //a/divdiv style="text-align: justify;"br //divdiv style="text-align: justify;"This is the dress I cut it off, you'll see the before amp; after of the dress very soon. How fun is this techni colour tribal printed fabric? Oh btw, I'm wearing a DIY wrapped black bustier in these pics but you can't see it - just in case you were thinking I like to get around in just detachable collars!/divbr /div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"/divdiv class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/66755335@N05/6499094343/" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;" title="apairandasparetribaldress2 by apairandaspare, on Flickr"img alt="apairandasparetribaldress2" height="428" src="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7172/6499094343_c2ecd66e80_b.jpg" width="640" //a/divdiv class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/66755335@N05/6499102625/" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;" title="apairandasparetribaldresss1 by apairandaspare, on Flickr"img alt="apairandasparetribaldresss1" height="432" src="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7146/6499102625_324f688a37_b.jpg" width="640" //a/divdiv class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"/divdiv class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"/divbr /br /div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"/divdiv style="text-align: center;"Follow via a href="http://www.bloglovin.com/en/blog/1735844/a-pair-amp-a-spare"Bloglovin/a | a href="http://www.facebook.com/pages/A-Pair-A-Spare/126034164117853?v=wall"Facebook/a | a href="http://twitter.com/#%21/apairandaspare"Twitter/a/divdiv class="blogger-post-footer"img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/8784775234411105189-8248477551432968441?l=apair-andaspare.blogspot.com' alt='' //div
